I've known Emily for quite some time now because my husband was one of her youth pastors when we lived in Virginia Beach. I also had the pleasure of shooting her senior portraits once upon a time at some amazing ruins while she modeled both on pointe and casually. It was one of my favorite photography sessions starting out. While realizing I was old enough to now have students from our time in ministry getting engaged, I was honored and thrilled when she and her mom reached out to me about photographing her wedding next summer.

I knew Nick had to be a special guy to have won Emily's heart and meeting him at their engagement session did not disappoint. Emily and Nick met while attending Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia and their love story is full of sweet details connected with the campus from their first kiss by the duck pond to Nick's proposal in one of the piano practice rooms. It was so apparent why Emily and Nick are such a perfect match especially when you see how much fun they have together and how easily they can make each other laugh. I was so happy to make a side trip to Blacksburg while visiting family in North Carolina and Virginia knowing it is such a meaningful location to their love story.

I cannot wait to photograph the continuation of their love story as they get married in Emily's home town of Virginia Beach and begin the next chapter in their lives together.
